About us

The Custodians

We were born and bred in the Breede River Valley. As the fourth-generation farmers on the De Hoop farm, we have a very deep connection to the valley and its people. Our dream is to become a beacon of hope, not only to our 3 beautiful children but also to our staff, the extended farm community and the people we have the privilege to meet through the Rietdakkie Farmstall & Kitchen and the De Hoop Mountain View Cottages.

Our fresh fruits and vegetables are sourced from local farmers and/or home growers. We are part of a close nit community and we want to give our support back to them. We stock what is in season.

FROM OUR FARMSTALL

Our farmstall is filled with jams and preserves, dried fruit, olives oils and all kind of interesting condiments, gifts, mouth-watering sweets, cookies and rusks and so much more. Make sure you have time to browse around.

FARM-STYLE KITCHEN

Stop for home brewed coffee & tea or our fresh baked roosterkoek (an all-time favourite), quiches, pies or indulge in something sweet. We have an enclosed area for kids to run around while you enjoy your treat in peace. Our cook has been part of the Rietdakkie family for years and her treats is something to behold.
